Now that Slackware has adopted PAM in 15.0 this should be a simple decision. You (gapan) mentioned in your blog post loooong ago that the primary reason for not going with LightDM was its dependency on PAM and PAM at the time of writing that post wasn't part of Slackware. https://blog.salixos.org/post/on-display-managers/
Yes, that's what I'm leaning to...
It's a reasonable and sensible choice. And as I mentioned, it's easy to configure via the optional GUI.
And, do listen to that old interview in your spare time. Is Andreas still around with Salix?

Gapan, what display manager will be used for salix 15.0 ?
Still undecided...
The best display manager is... no display manager. The first thing I did when I installed Salix in the past was to uninstall gdm and set run level to 3 in inittab. I will do the same whatever the new DM will be, so I don't really care about that. However I do understand why a DM is there by default, and for that matter I'd say LightDM is a reasonable choice, although I say LightDM only to avoid mentioning the ly display manager, which is the only DM I would ever consider using - well, I just mentioned it, and please don't run away.
A pleasant detail in this forum: several people pick a picture of their pet as their avatar. Who am I to do otherwise?
