guvcview

Hello. Cheese works well with my webcam (Gateway Netbook). However, it needs a lot of depends and takes up quite a bit of space. I have room for it on the netbook, but there a lot of cheese features I just won't use. I have gotten guvcview to work in the past and it seems to have fewer depends and t...

Re: Salix 13.1.1 has been released!

Hello. I installed 13.1 on my Netbook minutes before this announcement hit Distrowatch. I did an upgrade via gslapt and it looks like all went well. The only exception is that lilosetup was not installed. A quick search of gslapt confirmed this. Other gui admin tools were installed.

Re: Mixer for Sound output

You could right-click on the panel and choose add new item. Scroll about half way down and you'll see a mixer plug-in. You could use this to gain easy access to your mixer settings. As for exaile, it already has a built-in equalizer.

Re: [FIXED] dvd95

Thank you! (Upgraded via gslapt.)

P.S. How did you do it? /usr/share/pixmaps still looks the same as does dvd95.desktop?

[FIXED] dvd95

Hello. I installed dvd95. It shows up in the menu and I can launch it from the menu, but it has no menu icon. I did some research and here is the icon path in the .desktop file

Icon=dvd95

However, I think the path should be

/usr/share/pixmaps/dvd95/dvd9548.png

Re: gnormalize

Is ruby ripper a java app? I think it was the default ripper in absolute linux for awhile.

Thenktor - Sweet playlist. A little brutal here and there for me, but I can dig it.

Re: gnormalize

You're right. I ripped a prince cd with gnormalize using the normalize option. The good news is that gnormalize ripped a particular track when other rippers failed: it was badly scratched. The bad news is that the track sounded flat and lifeless.

I remember using replay gain in winxx. Thanks.

Re: ROX

Another option would be openbox+pcmanfm+tint2. Tried that with !# linux. I'm sorry to say that it didn't do anything for me. I had fb + pcmanfm + fbpanel for awhile. I customized fb panel to have a few icons and a pager (I got this idea since fbpager seems broken in debian). After awhile I removed ...

Thanks. I was going to say bug, but wasn't confident about that. Thanks.
